| On Tuesday, March 21 1950, United Telephone Co. Inc. completed the installation of the automatic exchange at the Burnettsville office.
The new telephone system consists of a new exchange building and 100 lines of North Electric Automatic equipment, consisting of seven links and three long distance trunks.
The Burnettsville exchange consists of approximately 145 subscribers and in cutting the new exchange into service, it was necessary to install new modern dial telephones, the first ones in White County, in all the subscribers’ homes.
